These are examples of practices explored in the "How To" workshop.
This is an ideal first step to bringing StandUp Parenting to your community.
Too Much of a Good Thing
Many parents find that they give their children so much that the children feel entitled to things they haven't done anything to earn. Some parents do so much for their children that they fail to take care of their own needs and desires. Some parents love their children so much that they cannot say no or provide the boundaries that make children feel safe and secure.
The "Too Much of a Good Thing" workshop explores the phenomenon of overindulgence and over protection. Exercises are included to help parents clarify whether they are giving too much to their children. Activities are designed to show parents how to set limits on themselves where needed.
CLEAR
Rules and REAL Consequences
When kids ignore or defy
rules, parents often feel powerless. They wonder what they
can do to get the changes needed. The CLEAR Rules and REAL
Consequences workshop gives practical ideas for setting
limits based on each family’s core values with
consequences that motivate compliance. Fresh and effective
ideas for gaining children’s cooperation are explored in
this dynamic learning experience.
