The Purpose of Meeting Together

The overarching goal of every parent's participation is to realize a vision for their family which may be expressed with the StandUp Parenting vision. Every parent will have the tools and support needed to:

encourage responsible behavior
build a strong and healthy family
and develop harmony and support in the community

Plans for Moving On are developed each week to accomplish short-term objectives to realize the vision or accomplish the goal. The objectives often are to bring about positive change in undesirable behaviors. In order to accomplish the short-term objectives, the parent works each week to:

Influence a change in the child's undesirable behavior
Make a positive change in the parent's current response to the targeted behavior.
Recognize and reinforce the child's strengths and positive behaviors.

Weekly progress reports provide self-assessment and accountability toward meeting the objectives that lead to the realizing the goal.
